passwords etc..

Would be great to have the username and password emailed to the client everytime an invoice is sent. I know i can type it in the text field before i send the invoice but i have to look up the info every time for existing clinets. this is still the best system i have worked with.

The password is encrypted in database. Only the person who set the password knows what the actual password is.

Admin can reset the password, but the admin does not know the current password is for a client.

If admin forgets his password, he has to use a tool resetpw.php (included in install directory) to reset the admin password.

Sending password through email is risky as email can be easily hacked. We could embed the username in the email though.

What about making the clients password non-encrypted keeping the admin encrypted? this way we could send the clinet their username and password when we send the invoice. If someone was to hack in to their invoice what is the worst they could do? pay their bill....

when i joined this fourm my username and password was sent to me.
thats what i would like for my clients.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi there,
Thought it best to post here rather than start a new topic, hope it's ok?
Any ways.. i lost my password for my administration so as mentioned in
this thread I tried using the "resetpw.php" and all I got was this error code.
Code: Select all
Fatal error: Call to undefined function gettoplangdef() in /home/whymand/public_html/billing/resetpw.php on line 38

Is there anyway around this?

Cheers.. 8)

You would need to upload all files in the setup folder (make sure you have the correct version).
