What is Forperfect Bills Reminder?
Forperfect Bills Reminder is an Android Application that helps you to manage your bills. The software manages a list of your bills, with brief summary on top, such as total bills amount, number of bills over-due vs total number of bills. The overdue bills will be red font with a little bell on left. Depending on your setting, you will be alarmed by sound, vibration and light. In notification area (on top left), you will also have notification messages to remind you bills to be paid.

The software gives you flexibility to setup different alarm style for each bill. Each bill reminder can have its own due date, amount, billing cycle, remind offset (when you should be alarmed), alarm time and bill notes. For each reminder, you can enable or disable the reminder.

You can also setup the default options in Options screen, such as alarm scan frequency, default remind days offet (when to start alarm), total number of alarms each day, notification styles (Light, Sound and/or vibration), default email address and content template, default number format, date format etc.

You can download and install the application from Android Market.

IMPORTANT: By installing and using this software, you agree our license agreement. If you disagree, you have to uninstall and remove the software from your device.

Download and Installation:
  1. From your Android device (such as T-mobile G1 phone), go to "Market". http://www.android.com/market
  2. Click "Application",
  3. Click "Finance",
  4. Look for "Forperfect Bills Reminder".
  5. Click "Install" button, the software will be downloaded and installed in a few seconds.

Uninstallation:
If you decide to remove Forperfect Bills Reminder from your device. Follow these steps:
  1. Click "Home" button.
  2. Click "Menu" button. You should see pop-up menu on screen. Select "Settings"
  3. Click "Applications", then click "Manage Applications"
  4. Find "Bills Reminder", click the title, you should see "Uninstall" button.
  5. Click "Uninstall" button, and follow instructions to remove the software from your device.


Order Unlock Key:
  1. Download and install the trial version of Bills Reminder from your Google phone. Select Market >>Applications>>Finance>>Bills Reminder
  2. After installation, start Bills Reminder, click "I Agree", then MENU >> About >> Write Down Release version and Phone Number/Device ID.
  3. Go to http://www.forperfect.com/br
  4. Fill out the form, use the phone number you get in step 2, follow the order process.
  5. Upon payment, you will get the unlock key by email within 24 business hours.


User Guide:

1. Start Bills Reminder
After you download and install Bills Reminder from Android market, you will see your program list now has Bills Reminder. Look for the golden bell with red dollar sign. See the screen shots below.
Double tap the golden bell to start the application.

2. About Bills Reminder Home Screen: Bills List and Summary
When Bills Reminder starts, it enters its home screen. (see the screen shots below). The screen has the following sections:
  1. The very top section, on left is the notification area. If there are bills alarm, you will see the green dollar icon. Drag down green dollar icon, you will see the notification message.
  2. Below the top section is the title bar. You see "Bills Reminder" title.
  3. Below title section is the summary line. The font color is green. It has the format: Bills Reminder - <today date> - <total bills amount> - <total number of bills due / total number of bills >
  4. Main section is the bills list. The bills are sorted by their due dates. Overdue ones are on top.
  5. If you push "MENU" button, you will see three menu items on the bottom of home screen. "Add Reminder", "Del Reminder", "Options" and "About"


3. Add a New Bill
At home screen, click "MENU" button, then click "Add Reminder" in pop-up menu.
The pre-filled information in the add screen is from the options page. You can customize these parameters in Options screen so that the default values for every "Add Reminder" screen will fit your style.
  1. "Due By" is defaulted to today date. Click "Pick Date" to select date. (see screen shots below)
  2. Amount is by default 1 dollar. This input has to be a number.
  3. "Bill Period" is the billing cycle for this bill. Be aware that some credit cards have 25 or 26 billing cycle days, instead of one month. When you paid the bill, you go to "Update Screen" and click "PAID" button. The software will automatically calculate next due date based on this "Bill Period" value.
  4. "Remind" is used to calculate when to start alarm. For example, if the bill due date is 1/7/2009 and if this "Remind" value is set to be 5 days before. Then the alarm will start from 1/2/2009.
  5. "Alarm Time" is the time that alarm will be triggered. Click "Pick Time" to select time. (see screen shots below)
  6. "Enable Bill Alarm", if checked, the alarm will be triggered when the time is due. If not checked, whether this bill is shown in bill list home page depends on the options you set in "Options" page. (See more details in "Options" section)



4. Update a Bill
At the bill reminder home screen, click one bill to view the bill details. The screen is similar to "Add Reminder" screen except the information about this bill is pre-populated. Also at the bottom you have four buttons instead of two.
  1. "Previous" and "Next": these two buttons allows you to see previous reminder or next reminder quickly.
  2. "PAID" button allows you to quickly set the bill's due date to be next due date.
  3. "Update" button allows you to change any information for this bill.
TIP: More actions are available by clicking MENU button. See screen shot next. By clicking MENU button, you will see six buttons on screen: "Previous", "PAID", "NEXT", "Delete", "Cancel", "Email".
  1. "Delete" button allows you to remove this reminder from system.
  2. "Cancel" button allows you to return to previous screen without any changes to current reminder.
  3. "Email" button allow you to send a bill reminder to any email address. You can pre-define the default email address, content template in Options screen. Once you click "Email" button, the default email program will be called, default email content is pre-filled, you have a chance to change the email address/content and send the email out.



5. Delete a Bill
To delete a bill, if you are at Bills Reminder home screen, simply select one bill, then push "MENU" button, then select "Del Reminder" from pop-up menu. If you are at "Update Bill" screen, you may click "Delete" button on bottom to remove current bill.


6. Set Preference
You can set your preference to change the behavior of Bills Reminder. At home screen, click "MENU", choose "Options" in pop-up menu. You will see "Options" screen. (See screen shots below).
  1. "Date Format", MM represents two digits of month, dd represents two digits of day in the month, yyyy represents four digits of year.
  2. "Number Format", select a number most close to what you prefer. 1234.56 is shown as example to show the format only.
  3. "Scan Every", this value controls how frequently the software checks for any overdue bills. If you set this to be x minutes, the software will wake up every x minutes to check if there are any bills to be alarmed. It is recommended to set this to be 5 minutes.
  4. "No. of Alarms", this controls how many time we alarm you during one day. Bills Reminder use this value along with "Scan Every" to decide if alarm should be triggered. For example, if "Scan Every" is 3 minutes, and "No. of Alarms" is 2, then you will get two alarms with 3 minutes apart for a given day.
  5. "Row Padding" , can be used to increase the height of a row in reminder list screen.
  6. "Notification", this sets the notification style. You can pick any combination.
  7. "Bill List", if on, any inactive bill will be listed in the home screen. To set one bill inactive, simply uncheck "Enable Bill Alarm" at creation or update screen.
  8. "Alarm Starts", this value will be used as a default for "Add Reminder" screen. You can overwrite this value for that bill at creation time.
  9. "Bill Period", this value will be used as a default for "Add Reminder" screen. You can overwrite the bill period for that bill during creation time.
  10. "To", this is the default email address used in sending reminder email. You will have a chance to change this email address at sending time.
  11. "Subject" and "Body", these are default values for email. You can change them at sending time. You can use the following variables:
    {TITLE}: The reminder title you defined.
    {DUE_DATE}: The bill's due date.
    {DUE_AMOUNT}: The bill's due amount.
    {NOTES}: The notes you saved for this bill.
    These variables will be replaced by real values for this bill when you click "Email" button in Edit screen.



7. Enter License Key to Unlock Bills Reminder
You can use Bills Reminder up to 31 days. After the trial period, you have to purchase a license key to unlock the software. Otherwise, many functions will be disabled. However, you will still be able to see the home bill list screen. After you made the purchase, we will send you the license key within 24 business hours by email. Restart "Bill Reminder" application, you will be prompted a dialog asking for license key. Enter the license key to unlock the software.

Alternatively, you may follow the following steps to unlock the software:
  1. Go to Bills Reminder home screen (bills list page).
  2. Enter "MENU", click "Options" from pop-up menu.
  3. In options screen, click "Bills Reminder" button (the button on bottom with red font).
  4. About screen shows up, click "Enter License Key" button on bottom.
  5. Now you can enter the license key to unlock the software. (see screen shot below)
